An important measure to reduce lead time in product development is the process of reverse engineering. Tools and devices for manufacturing can be analyzed for possible deviations on the basis of a geometry comparison.

3d model reconstruction without CAD description

Using the data from 3d scanner, cloud point or oder technical references, we re-create the 3d CAD model from a physical component or tool. By means of a continuous geometry comparison, possible deviations between the CAD model and the data of the original part produced by optical measurement can be determined and adjusted so that at the end of reconstruction the deviations od 3d model to be minimized.
Modifications and adjustments of the geometry in the CAD 3D model can be carried out in consultation with the customer.

Surface recontruction without CAD Description

By reverse engineering we can re build in the initial state the product / tool, and tool tunning can be significantly improved. The reverse engineering is the interface between the 3D scanned object and the CAD model. We produce high-quality surface models from the STL data of their already scanned tools, devices, design studies or product samples.

After the conversion of the optimized polygon network into NURBS surfaces, the parametric rebuilding of the model takes place. The fully-parametric CAD 3D model reproduces the actual state of the object being examined and can be used in design, production and development processes as well as in flow or FEM simulation.

Quality assurance

For quality assurance, we carry out target / target comparisons in order to detect dimensional deviations between the original CAD 3D model and the actual component.

In a color graphic, the positive and negative deviations between the measured data of the digitized components are visualized visually with the CAD 3D model. On this basis, we create detailed and customized reports.

We also produce initial sample inspection reports and reports on the actual state of their components.
